Apple iMac 27-Inch Epic Fail – No iMac For You! (…This Christmas.)
This of you Mac fans hoping for a shiny new 27-inch iMac this Christmas are just going to have to wait. Apple has stopped shipment of the 27-inch iMac after an overwhelming flood of complaints about the 27-inch iMac. Even though the smaller-screened 21.5-inch iMac more or less works peachy-keen, something about the big bad 27-inch version has gone horribly wonky.

Bad Apple! The 27-inch iMac is having issues.
Of the reported problems, some of the most significant are flickering displays, bars on the screen, and a constant high-pitched whine that hurts some people’s ears. All of the problems seem to basically come back to the 27″ screen.
Strangely, there have even been rumors that installing Windows on an afflicted 27″ iMac actually corrects the issues, which somehow makes it seem more like a driver problem than a hardware problem, if this is indeed true. Verification would be nice for posterity.
But ultimately, the point is, Apple has goofed up. Thank goodness for that warranty. And if you were looking to buy yourself (or a loved one) a nice shiny new 27-inch iMac for Christmas … sorry. Looks like you’ll just have to wait as Apple sorts this out.
